Scandi Soujourns

If you’ve ever wondered about what lessons we can learn from Scandinavian architecture and design then grab a kaffe and join us for this hour-long presentation from two people who have been to study it first hand. Both are recipients of the Alan Barnes Travel Scholarship which allows final year undergraduates to experience architecture on a journey of discovery, enlightenment and adventure.

When and where?

At 2pm on Friday 5 February, two past recipients of the scholarship, Eryn McQuillan and Chris McKernan will deliver a joint presentation on their respective travels in 2018 and in 2019.

In 2018, Eryn was awarded a scholarship which enabled her to travel 2500km through Norway’s scenic landscapes. Chris McKernan was awarded a scholarship in 2019 for his trip from Denmark to the east of Sweden where he visited influential feats of architecture which illustrate the use of Nordic light.
