RSUA, in partnership with Cleaver Fulton Rankin, is running a highly interactive Mediation Masterclass.
Mediation is being used more frequently as a dispute resolution tool. However, outside the legal world there is a lack of awareness as to what the process involves and its advantages. This construction specific masterclass will give attendees the opportunity to watch a live mediation demonstration to see how the process works in practice. Construction Barrister Michael Humphreys, QC will preside as Mediator with construction professionals from HKA Global inLondonas the parties. It is hoped that attendees will experience the full process of mediation without having the financial pressures that are usually upon parties in a real mediation
Micheal Humpreys QCis a leading barrister who practises mainly in commercial law including litigation, arbitration, adjudication and mediation as forms of dispute resolution. He particularly specialises in construction disputes, public procurement challenges, banking and professional negligence actions for and against solicitors, architects, surveyors and financial advisors.
Robert C Campbell is a chartered architect with 38 years post qualification experience. Mr Campbell sits on the RIAS Contracts Committee. He is also a professional practice examiner with the RIBA. Robert is a Technical Director (Architecture) for HKA.
John Delaney is an Associate Director at HKA Global providing dispute resolution services to the construction industry across a broad range of sectors including residential, commercial, healthcare, road and rail sectors. John has extensive experience in dispute resolution procedures and is currently studying to become an adjudicator.
Lisa Boyd, Patrick Fleming and Aaron Moore are Directors in the construction team at Cleaver Fulton Rankin Solicitors. Between them they have extensive experience in both contentious and non-contentious construction law. All three have worked on major projects such as Titanic Belfast, Belfast Met, the Lyric Theatre and the Mac. Aaron and Patrick are currently studying to become adjudicators and Aaron is already a mediator. The team have advised clients through many alternative dispute resolution processes within the construction industry including mediation, arbitration, adjudication and High Court proceedings.
