Mental health, work, and the new “normal” – how to build resilience and achieve wellness

The past few months have been challenging, to say the least.  Uncertainty about the future and worry about the present have coincided with the biggest change to our working lives that we’ve ever seen.  Working from home has advantages and disadvantages in terms of productivity and balance, and establishing a mentally healthy relationship between work and life is key to success in these turbulent times.  Alina Holyst from ABS will speak at the start of the session to explain how ABS is supporting architects through the current period.

With offices re-opening and the structural changes in workplaces starting to come into view, how we look after ourselves and each other in a professional context is vital.  RSUA has organised this hour long seminar with experts from AWARE to equip architects with the practical skills and knowledge to underpin good mental health.

Course content

This seminar will help participants to look after their mental health at work and in their home lives. It will also teach them to recognise the signs and symptoms of poor mental health and make them aware of sources of help.

This training will be delivered by AWARE – the depression charity for Northern Ireland.  For over 20 years, AWARE have delivered mental health and well-being programmes into communities, schools, colleges, universities and workplaces. These programmes include Mood Matters programmes, Living Life to the Full, Mental Health First Aid and Mindfulness.
