Preparing for Practice

RSUA, in partnership with QUB, invites all Part 3 students due to take their exams in the Autumn to Preparing for Practice., which is an informal pre-exam discussion led by experts in their respective fields. This year the event will be held online using Microsoft Teams and will start with a short welcome from Donal MacRandal, RSUA President and close with a panel Q&A from the speakers.
Whilst this event is focused on helping Part 3 students prepare for their final exams it also provides a useful refresher to any recently qualified architects and can also be beneficial to Part 2 students. Indeed, all architects and architecture students are welcome to attend.
Topics for discussion include:
- How to approach fee calculations and activity schedules, (Martin Hare, Managing Director, McAdam Design)
- Appointing consultants, (Paul Crowe – invited, Managing Director, TODD Architects)
- Your responsibilities under the code of conduct (Donal MacRandal, RSUA President)
- Planning for success; pitfalls and opportunities (Sheila Murphy, Associate Director, Turley Planning)
