Preparing for practice

RSUA, in partnership with Architecture at Queen’s and ARCex, each year invites all Part 3 students due to take their exams in September to “Preparing for Practice”, which is an informal pre-exam discussion led by experts in their respective fields.

Whilst this event is focussed on helping Part 3 students prepare for their final exams it also provides a useful refresher to any recently qualified architects and Part 2 students.  Indeed, all architects and architecture students are welcome to attend.

Previous topics for discussion have included:

  • Copyright and license agreements for designs.
  • NEC – specifically comparing it with JCT – and the differences between NEC Option A and B.
  • CDM – Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2016.

The event consists of three short presentations followed by questions from the students with answers and discussion from the panel of speakers.
