There is just over one month to the deadline for retention fees which are due by midnight on 31 December 2020. Architects who do not pay the annual charge cannot, by law, offer their services. Architects are required to be both fully qualified and registered with the Architects Registration Board (ARB).
The aim of the register is to protect the public from people who present themselves as architects but who are either unqualified or are qualified in a different way. You can search the register of architects here. Architects can pay this annual charge here if they wish to remain on the register – failure to do so will result in being removed and losing the ability to practice.
ARB will be sending additional emails and texts over the next few weeks to remind registrants of the deadline and letters to individuals where emails either have bounced or are not delivered.
