Belfast City Council has announced that site visits can resume as part of the planning process using a “risk-based approach”. If Belfast City Council needs to enter private land to carry out a site inspection, they will contact the applicant or agent to make arrangements and any such visits will follow social distancing guidance. Site visits to occupied buildings are currently not being carried out.
Whilst some planning staff have been furloughed until 30 June, Belfast City Council has issued updated guidance for the electronic submission of planning applications, including how they approach the signature requirement for certificates of ownership and declarations. This guidance can be found here.
