The Conservation Committee met online on Wednesday 17 June 2020. The committee will meet again in the coming weeks to discuss drafting NEC guidelines for conservation projects and put forward ideas for position papers on policies that impact Northern Ireland’s built heritage.
The committee also discussed the public request to purchase Crumlin Road Courthouse. RSUA will write a joint letter to the Department for Communities, the Department for Finance and the Department for Infrastructure with a direct request to purchase the courthouse, to undertake immediate protection works and consider meanwhile uses. The group were also updated on the pilot scope of service for condition surveys and made suggestions for the digital European Heritage Open Days (EHOD).
The next Conservation Committee meeting will take place on 17 September 2020.
