Draft Budget for Northern Ireland consultation launched

19/01/2021

The Department for Finance has published a consultation on the draft Budget for the Northern Ireland Executive to cover the period 2021-22. The draft Budget includes £1.75 billion of capital spending which will support the construction sector and provide investment for the schools estate and social housing.

Capital spending is increasing marginally while everyday spending is essentially standing still with money allocated to Executive priorities such as the A5, A6 and Casement Park. The draft Budget also proposes a freeze on regional rates for businesses and householders.

The consultation period ends on Thursday 25 February and the full detail can be seen here.
