NI Audit Office criticises major projects


The Northen Ireland Audit Office have released a report which considers the performance of a number of major capital projects in Northern Ireland. Among the key findings of the report is that major, high-priority capital projects are not meeting their cost and timescale targets and that a change in approach is needed.

The Comptroller and Auditor General, Kieran Donnelly, considered a range of flagship infrastructure projects including Strule Shared Education Campus, Ulster University’s Belfast Campus, Casement Park and found disparate and varied reasons for the overruns. The full report is available to read here.
