QUB adopts adjusted narrow average for City Deal projects

Queens’ University Belfast has decided to adopt an adjusted narrow average for procuring proposed projects under the Belfast Region City Deal. The narrow average involves removing the top and bottom tenders and taking an average of the remaining prices which is then used to award the tender. Queen’s are using this approach but adjusting the narrow average down by 3%.

By adopting this approach, Queen’s University Belfast are signalling their focus is on ensuring design quality and delivering long term value for the university. This news follows on from RSUA’s engagement on this issue with Queen’s University Belfast and other clients.
