Training opportunities for the next generation of architects

Earlier in September RSUA wrote to Economy Minister Diane Dodds MLA in respect of the financial incentives to employers to recruit and retain apprentices and has received a response.

RSUA remains concerned that employers may not be able to provide students with the required 24 months of on-the-job training to qualify as an architect and is seeking support from the NI Executive at this difficult time.

RSUA is meeting officials from the Department for the Economy to discuss how the Apprenticeship Challenge Fund might be accessed by practices and also to explore how the Department could assist in providing additional routes for training future architects. Members will be kept informed of progress on this issue.
